Another wonderful thing about Sobriety is the rediscovery of my favorite art form, Music. My friend Cindy Sherman once told me that music saves lives. I didnt realize this though it resonated inside me, in some place unfamiliar yet comforting....and something inside there told me that she was right. I eventually came to find out personally and deeply just how true these words are. In fact, there have been so many times in my life when I simply could not find the words, emotions and, worse of all, when gathering a general idea of what I wanted to say and what I felt, the inability to connect these two critical elements of communication just completely baffled me to a meth riddled stupor. My inability to externalize this need in me had to manifest and it did in a self destructive way, and like all addictions that are fueled by this sort of longing, its parasitic drive took every last bit of everything that means anything to me. So, in short, Im glad I get to enjoy music again, maybe with a bit more appreciation of the scathed variety......so it turned out that I can enjoy music without the need to form a tragedy effecting the need to be saved. Today, Ill start with this one......:
