Another wonderful weekend at The Empire has come to an end…and the artists and Beatle fans have all travelled safely home… A big thank you to everyone that made Empire Beatle Weekend a huge success…I will start with the wonderful Empire Theatre staff…David Rashotte, Chris Palmer, Tammy Tischbein , Barb Forgie, Shannon Brant plus many more that took care of all of the fab patrons that joined us .Chef Nelson from Café E who fed us all. .and of course the tech side of the Empire ..led by our “secret weapon” Wayne McFaul plus Brandon Kull, Terry Bald and Steve Fleet on guitar duty all weekend! To the all the bands and musician ..You all came with your “A” Game this weekend ...putting on stellar sets…thank you for that! And thanks for some of you that travelled 100’s of miles and endured flat tires(NewBees) and border crossing fun (Chris Getsla –BritBeat)to get to our town and share your talents…and lets not forget The Meyers Creek Pipe and Drum Band making their debut on Mull of Kintyre..huge! The fans from close by and those who came long distances. .and at least one that went through all kinds of challenges to get here (yes Randy I’m talking about you!)..I thank you all …if it wasn’t for all of you coming out we wouldn’t be able to do this over again! Plus The media sponsors that got the word out for us ..from Quinte Broadcasting, Starboard Communications and The Intell.. Lorne Brooker for having us on his show ..and Mark Philbin and Rick Kevin who help us out on stage on Friday and Saturday nights! So now Andy and I will start planning for next year… and in the words of Steve Smith I say to all of you “Good Job Kevin”! (If you were there at the start of Saturday afternoon you will know what that means ..if you weren’t you’ll have to come out next year to find out!!) Cheers..Mark
