Anti-muffin top billboards removed by plastic surgery office after vandalism JACKSON, MI – A Jackson plastic surgery office removed three anti-muffin top advertisements from the area after one of the ads was vandalized. The billboard, which once displayed the slogan, “friends don’t let friends muffin top” was spray painted to include “You’re beautiful!” and the two muffins shown atop a pair of jeans were also given smiley faces. An Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery spokesperson had previously said the office intended to replace the billboard but reported Thursday they have since decided to remove the ad and two others. “It just obviously wasn’t the taste for Jackson,” Tammy Nelis, office manager at Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery in Jackson said of the advertising campaign. The company has an office in Jackson at 900 E. Michigan Ave. and another location in Ann Arbor. Nelis said a police report has been made for the the vandalized billboard, located in the 700 block of Brown Street, and the incident is under investigation. The billboard was put up in May after the plastic surgery practice took down a different billboard in Jackson, which members of the community and Facebook fans called “tasteless and “horrible.” The anti-muffin top campaign drew similar criticism.
