Antigua: man jailed for 6 years for stabbing woman who is mother of his 4 children. Henry later arrived home where McAllister, who was armed with a gun and knife, accosted her. He threatened to kill her and stabbed her in the right side. She jumped the gallery’s railing in a bid to escape and ran to the fence, which she tried to scale, but was unsuccessful. The mother of four fell to the ground and Henry went over her and inflicted several stab wounds about her body. An officer, who was in the area, went to Henry’s assistance and McAllister was taken into custody. Henry spent 17 days in the hospital with injuries to the chest, side, arm and thigh. Her ex told police he became jealous after hearing her tell another man over the phone that she loved him. Justice Thom expressed concern as to the vicious nature of the attack, which he said was unprovoked. The judge spoke out about violent attacks on women. “It is a habit of some young men to injure females who want to leave them. These types of offences must stop,” Justice Thom said. “These violent acts against women must stop.”
