Antony Walela The Mathare by election drove my mind to think of TNA/Kikuyu voting patterns. This might sound tribal but it is worthy sharing. In 2013, TNA denied the Kikuyu candidates in Lamu TNA tickets. They gave the TNA tickets to Coastals. When votes were counted, 5 Kikuyu MCAs made it to Lamu county government on Safina, Farmers party etc. A Kikuyu made it as MP Lamu West on Peter Ken`s KNC ticket. TNA won the Presidential vote in Lamu by an even bigger margin. The Kikuyus voted Kikuyu. If the Luos had done the same in Mathare today, they would have voted Omondi or Billian while the Luhyas would have voted Fwamba or Mudanya. The 4 got a combined vote of less than 400 votes.
