Anxiety is building up as Election Day is getting closer and closer. Mix emotion including Fear hope and concerns is getting built up under each political party. But as some of you know Ive been volunteering and advocating for the Ontario NDP or ONDP since early 2012 the moment mcguinty announced that community start up and maintenance benefits would be downloaded to municipality by early 2013. I use to think liberals was the best party to vote for followed by conservatives. Not any more. Voting for ONDP is the one and only right way to go. Andrea Horwaths platform plan is the only political plan that truly makes sense from minimum Wage increase to 12$/hour in two years to offering local businesses a tax break for off setting the extra burden of minimum wage increase to many other plan that truly makes sense. You know, Kathleen Wynne had a neutral budget proposal presented on may 1st except for some of the only few things I seriously did not like at all what so ever out of the liberals budget was the proposal of increasing odsp rates by a lousy low 1%/year again this year since 2003 when liberals got into power. mean while inflation goes up by 1.5% a year. so in the end we still lose out on that 0.5%/year. In that budget the Liberals were trying to start a CPP crisis that doesnt exist. They were also trying to force everyone to save 100$/month. But at the same time they were increasing spending on hydro and food etc.....So how exactly are people supposed to save that 100$/month saved? Never mind let alone that fact that theres the liberals budget proposal of cutting the monthly employment credit to ODSP recipient down to half at only 100$/month for six months of the year every year instead of 100$/month every single month while an ODSP recipient has a job and must report its job earning earning to ODSP office. If the liberals wins election more and more ODSP recipient will be discourage from heading out into the work force. is that what tax payers wants? No! Of course not! I myself have a temporary part time job where for the last three years I worked as a leafy costume waver for a tax company during tax season from february 1st to april 30th of 2012, 2013, 2014 and for 2015 if I cant find a permanent job. That being said if the liberals wins election I myself like so many other ODSP recipient will be discourage from finding a permanent job as the employment credit will be cut down to half annually. As for conservatives goes, I dont even want to go their as ODSP would get ruin in many ways nevermind let alone the million job plan that makes no sense. but to say that if Tim Hudak wins election hed be bound to become the next worse ontario premier ever in Ontario history followed by dalton McGuinty and mike Harris for an even tie then Kathleen wynne and bob rae in third place for an even tie. The ontario ndp intends on resolving all of these issues for ODSP recipient. Many ODSP recipients no longer have trust in the Ontario Liberals and conservatives. As for bob Rae as an ndp leader in early 1990s he didnt do his job right as he was moreless acting up like a liberal leader. That being said time have change. The ONDP we had in early 1990s isnt the same ONDP we have now time have change and mistakes is being learnt. ONDP intends on spending 294 million dollars annually on human services matter from social assistance to housing maintenance. So on June 12, please do the right thing and put an X beside your ONDP MPP candidate or Joe Cimino for Sudbury Region. Id sincerely hope to see Cimino and Horwath win the election as voting for ONDP is the one and only right way to go. Need evidence here it is: Human Service Matters: The NDP is committed to social assistance reform that makes sense and delivers for all Ontarians. Thanks to the provincial government’s shirking of their responsibilities for these programs, municipalities have taken on a bigger share of social service delivery. We have been pushing the out of touch Liberal government to increase the Ontario Works and the Ontario Disability Support Program for years. In 2013 we were successful in our insistence that they create an earnings exemption that will allow recipients of OW and ODSP to keep the first $200 in employment earnings before the government begins clawing back their benefits. We will also implement a $190 increase to ODSP. The NDP recognizes that OW and ODSP still do not reflect the actual cost of living, including the cost of shelter, energy, and nutritious food. Our goal is to address this issue and to stand up for middle class families. We are also committing to dental benefits for children in low-income households, creating new childcare spaces and implementing a tax credit for families stretched by caring for ill or elderly relatives, all to stop the poverty cycle in its tracks. We know that job creation must be a primary focus for an Ontario government today. We believe that targeted tax credits will increase job creation. The Liberals just want to put $2.5 billion tax dollars into corporate bank accounts and hope that some jobs will be created. The Ontario NDP will also implement a minimum wage increase to $12/hr that will be phased in over two years starting June 1, 2014. Again we will use targeted tax credits to help small businesses handle the impact of the wage increase. Too many families are being squeezed by rising costs and worry about having a safe, clean place to live. The Ontario NDP will make life more affordable and will enhance support for poverty reduction and homelessness prevention. We will increase the Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative by $42 million annually to $294 million over seven years. NDP MPP for Parkdale-High Park, Cheri DiNovo, tabled a bill that will allow inclusionary zoning to enable municipalities to tackle affordable housing. Finally, we will protect tenants by providing additional funding to municipalities to step up enforcement of building and maintenance standards to make sure that existing rental units are healthy and safe. amo.on.ca/AMO-PDFs/Letters/2014/NDP-Response-2014-05-28.aspx
