Any goals that also involve “feelings” – (e.g. like dieting and physique transformation) are more problematic because of these feelings – and because feelings are not “objective.” So, to tell someone “objectively” to just “follow this diet” – and not entertain the feelings that drive and motivate that person – tends to reduce people to being mindless automatons and that is always a hit and miss proposition. You can’t just reduce people to “recipe followers” and “a script to follow.” Yet- this is the way of the Fitness Industry – makes no sense to me. I deal with REAL people who think REAL thoughts and live REAL lives. This requires flexibility and Coaching individual mindsets as well. Long-term behavior follows thinking almost always - not the other way around.
