Any parent who has left their kids--older kids who are aware--for any real length of time knows that in the days before you leave, you have the most morbid thoughts. Most of them revolve around what if we die on the plane, or in some accident and this is their last few days with us...or, what if they are in an accident and this is the last time I see them. I hate this part of being a parent. Like, for the last couple days, Avery has been spontaneously giving me kisses on the forehead and telling me she loves me thiiiiis much. In my sick, overly paranoid parent brain, Im like, does she know something I dont? Ugh...gotta focus on the beach, the pool, the relaxation and the awesome company!!!!
