Anybody have any experience with the Geek Squad at Best Buy? Went there because Best Buy is where I bought my laptop 3 1/2 months ago. First question: Do you have a service plan? Me: I just paid $XXX.xx, why do I have to pay more to ensure it works? Second question: Is it backed up? Me: Its 3 1/2 months old, I havent gotten to that yet. She Geek: Well back it up for $150.00 Me: Carbonite does it for $59.95 She Geek: Well need it for 3 to 5 days. Me: OK. Give me your laptop to use in the meantime. She Geek: Thats not possible. She Geek: If its hardware related, its covered. If its software related, well charge you. Me: give me back my laptop.
