Anyone besides myself getting pumped up for tomorrow nights big fight between Manny Pacquiao and champion Timothy Bradley? Sitting here watching the ESPN card from Mandalay Bay,which has held some memorable fights in its own right,I cant help but wonder about all the speculation among media and fans alike about whether Manny still has what it takes to be considered one of the elite fighters in the game. He hasnt had a knockout since 09 when he beat Miguel Cotto, and this has raised many questions in the media as they try and hype the rematch. Bradley is the same fighter but a far more confident fighterthis time around, which goes a long way. He beat Pacquiao in their first go-round in what many thought[myself included] Manny won convincingly. However,2 out of the 3 scorecards showed otherwise. This fight has many intriguing factors, more questions to be answered, and one is if Manny is still the fighter he was during his reign as the best pound for pound fighter in the game.. Bradley, with his undefeated record on the line, has the chin to take a punch, but will that be enough against Manny? He sure proved his chin against the Russian in his first defense, and what a battle it was. The 12th round had Bradley being beaten from pillar to post, almost out on his feet at one point but doing enough to win the fight, then beating Marquez in a dull affair that had Bradley putting himself out of harms by boxing and working from a distance ,thus setting up the rematch against Paquiao. Manny is in control of his own destiny. He wins and were looking at a possible Pacquiao-Mayweather match-up,which boxing fans have been wanting for a long time. However,if Bradley wins, his career takes off and he becomes a marketable fighter and puts himself in good position as well. I think Paquiao proves he still has what it takes and wins by ko around the 6th round. However,if Bradley lands a good shot, even though hes had only 12 kos in 30 fights, that will answer the question if Manny has fully recovered from his devastating ko by Juan Marquez. Enjoy the fight and keep on punchin!
