Anyone experience a real life “war” of a crazy neighbor? Mine has left me alone for years - until now. In July the City sent out letters for the neighbors that butt up against an ally that was never put in. They were told to move their fence lines off the city property and cut the trees branches to 15 above “street” level. I’ve complied taking down a dead tree and one right on top of the concrete ally mouth that would have been an ugly post sticking up after the branches were removed. There was a wax leaf bush that my Grandfather planted 50 yrs ago that had grown to tree like status that came down. I also cleared out all kinds of low growing ground clutter. According to crazy neighbor it’s MY fault!!! In my effort to remove the strangling sticker vines and grapevines from the trees the city noticed and decided EVERYONE had to clean up too. This morning I asked if Crazy neighbor would please clean up the wood shards with nails left from him moving his fence and post hole concrete chunks from my yard. He called me every name in the book and blamed me for the city taking notice. It’s MY fault and I’ve cost everyone in the neighborhood lots of money. It will be MY fault when neighbors get robbed and he’s making sure everyone knows! I called the very nice Code Compliance man from my letter and explained what’s going on. He assured me the effort started at the OTHER end of the “ally way.” It is also everyone’s job who butts up to city property to maintain it, if they city can not drive by and cut limbs. At least now that the sun can reach the ground and kill the poison ivy, poison sumac and poison oak! It will be nice to get grass growing up and control the top soil run off that has been happening every time we get a good hard rain. What a lovely way to start a Monday.
