Anyone need a decorator or stager?? A letter of recommendation... To Whom It May Concern: September 6, 2013 As a satisfied customer, I want to recommend Christine Travis for her decorating services. This girl is not just a stager – not just any one thing – she transforms space from top to bottom, inside and out. Chris has the ability to see beyond all existing chaos and clutter. Her sharp eye replaces tired, worn-out drab spaces with a fresh, bright, edgy new look. I have been painting and rearranging my house for many months. Finally, I needed to make that professional call. Chris went through every room in my house and in less than one week completely transformed every space! I pride myself on having a bright, cozy home, but this girl sees things that rearrange brain cells! Many of the changes were small, for example, I have some metal cabinets in the kitchen which I was going to paint white…what else, right? “No, no…paint them the color of the walls – a soft, lime green.” They are not just clean looking, (as my idea would have been), but they are now alive and crisp with color! The living room has always looked cluttered. I have two large bookshelves…which I won’t give up. But…not attractive. In a few hours, all random, untidy paper were contained and wrapped in colorful boxes – beautiful – and no one knows. Yet still I have easily accessible mail, maps, warranties – a potpourri of vital living material that looks good – now that’s a challenge! And what a difference a few new pillows make! Chris has the ability to take an accent color and unify all the colors in the room for a fluid look. She is full of wonderful ideas that combine beauty with function. For example, a new coffee table doubles as a blanket box eliminating clunky, useless furniture. Chris also transformed my spa. As a Massage Therapist, a warm, inviting environment is critical to my clients’ ability to relax. As per usual, I was making everything white – the only bright color road I know. “No, no”, she says again, “dark colors are comforting and embracing”. So, now I have dark blue, grape and soothing green, some white and some “shinnies”. An ugly but informative reflexology chart matted in grape and framed in white, and wow, suddenly my clients are asking questions about reflexology! Chris rearranged two heavy, clunky oak chests put a piece of marble on top, connecting them – and voila – a vanity – now so stunning! It’s the central focus of the room. Simple instructions – whole new feel. My daughter’s room was piled high and wide with collectibles from childhood and college. In a few hours Chris organized bookshelves, papers, clutter, closets – on and on. My daughter hardly recognizes her own room. It was just – WOW! And in my bedroom…honestly, a few sheers hanging in the windows and behind my bed, contrasting tie backs on curtains, and new colorful pillows – “we must have beautiful pillows”, softened and feminized the entire space. Friends have since commented that there’s almost a hush when you enter my room. So worthwhile…so amazing! We all have different visual acuity. As a Massage Therapist, we say our hands learn to see. As a Decorator, Chris can see through and beyond one’s own design to a place she creates in her own head…and then…in your house! Make that call. You’ll be thrilled. Plus, she’s an awesome person to work with…funny, happy and sharp as a tack! A toast to a happy change! Sandra Gannon
