Anyone who asks Why are middle-class incomes stagnating? Here is the answer. Federal spending has grown 12 times faster than median income. State and local spending has grown significantly over the same period, too. Where do you think all that money comes from? If its taken from business, it either shows up in prices at the checkout line or in lower pay for that business employees. If its taken from the rich it shows up in higher costs of capital to businesses - which again shows up in higher prices. Think about why a gallon of milk costs $3, a loaf of bread $4, and a gallon of gas $4. Think about how the government makes 10 times as much profit from every gallon of gas as the oil companies do. Then think about how Federal spending impacts YOU.
