Anyone who has been to our shop My Pets Home Hill Qld knows that our dogs Lola & Rover are part of the store. They are allowed access of our shop go out the back of the shop and at times they sleep on the footpath besides the shop. They are great for business and are very much apart of our business. They enjoy welcoming customers. We even have customers who only come to or shop to see Rover & Lola to give them a pat or to give them a treat. They do not wander are not aggressive and it is fantastic for them as they are socialised and stimulated all of the time. Both dogs have been with us prior to opening shop and we have had no issues. We received a warning from the Burdekin Shire Council a few months back that someone complained about them being out the front of the shop. we have tried to keep them inside but we have found it cruel on Lola & Rover to keep them locked up. They are causing no trouble to anyone. We are responsible pet owners. Give me a break it is a pet shop. I know the council has to respond to complaints but lets have abit of common sense here. They only walk out the front for a pat. today we are phoned by the council they were out the side again. This is our second warning so we will be fined for two dogs outside. What do we do put Lola & Rover in a cage all day ? Put Lola & rover on a chain all day. The person who complains to the council even knows their names We are the only shop left in that area, the only people who stop their are to come to my shop. Am I over reacting.
