Anyone who wants an informed opinion on GM crops and foods should read this article. People really love bashing Monsanto et al, and while I agree that the business practices of the food conglomerates are unsound and unethical, and would happily see this type of corporate enterprise destroyed, the science of GM foods offers us a safe and far more ecologically sound alternative to the haphazard process of interbreeding various species to get a benefit from a species genetics. Food companies and GMO are very separate issues, and almost everything we eat has already been genetically modified (via artificial selection) over the last 10,000 years anyway. Corporate law, financial legislation and our societys method of distributing wealth and resource are what need attention, so lets stop wasting time trashing a science that is good for our world and only 0.2% funded by private investment in some countries! iflscience/chemistry/top-five-myths-about-genetic-modification
