Apollo Hospitals Dhaka Urology Department organizes the first ever Holmium Training Class and Workshop in Bangladesh On 10th August 2014 Sunday, Apollo Hospitals Dhaka organized the first ever Holmium Laser Training in Bangladesh in a day long live workshop in the hospital auditorium. Dr. Waheed Zaman, Senior Consultant and Coordinator of Apollo Urology Department conducted and coordinated the whole session. The audience was given live demonstration of laser surgery of enlarged prostate and kidney stone highlighting the benefits of laser surgery. Close to seventy Urologists from Dhaka and outside Dhaka participated in the session. Prof. Dr. M A Salam, President of Bangladesh Association of Urology also presented on the program. Dr. Rajesh Taneja from Apollo Indraprastha Delhi and Dr. Amlan Chakravarty from Apollo Gleneagles Kolkata also presented case and spoke on the workshop. The program was supported by Lumenis India. Apollo Hospitals Dhaka is the pioneer of 100 watt Holmium Laser therapy in Bangladesh successfully performing laser surgery of enlarged prostate and kidney stone for last eight months. Certificate was distributed among the participants at the end of the workshop. On this workshop, participants learned about the correct holmium laser techniques for different endo-urological procedures; they also got complete information about the effect of different laser power setting and parameters. Further, participants were also provided with exclusive training on handling various laser accessories and laser endoscopic instrument to ensure faster adaptation of all the laser techniques.
