Apologies for the delay (due to human family reasons) but here, at - TopicsExpress

Apologies for the delay (due to human family reasons) but here, at last, is Christy, formerly Antoinette, now living with her fellow-Alina Dog Rescue sisters, Agatha and Lulu, in Boscastle. Christy has settled in well as you will have seen when Ruth kindly posted my favourite picture of my new little girl when she climbed onto a sleeping Lulu and lay there contently. I just love this picture, which I call Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, and cant help taking the opportunity to include it again. Christy has the loudest bark imaginable and uses it at every opportunity, real or imagined. The workmen at the cottage offer ample opportunity for her to demonstrate this. She is also incredibly strong and wilful too as well as being quite rough with Lulu who is more physically delicate. Agatha remains Top Dog and rightly so as she is the best behaved and happy dog one could ask for, despite her terrible earlier life. An accident earlier this year has left my arm damaged so taking photographs with three dogs - in which the intended subjects can be seen - has proven somewhat difficult. We walk on the coastal fields, in the beautiful Valency Valley or on the beaches for at least an hour and a half a day, some days much longer and these excursions have provided a multitude of barking opportunities. As with the other two, Christy will remain on a lead at all times outside of our own (contained) land until I am absolutely sure she will obey me so, although we are well into our second week, it looks like this will be the case for some time yet. Yesterday we appear to have had a breakthrough and Christy suddenly calmed down and began to cooperate and even behave rather well. Shes lying beside me snoring as I write this; Lulu is asleep by my feet and Agatha is on her bed. All three love having their tummies rubbed. Lulu has started to eat spiders - yuk! - of which there are plenty this month. All in all, my little longed-for canine family are happy and well. Mac-The-Cat remains The Boss and little cat Enid still sleeps where she feels safe - in the (defunct) airing cupboard.
