Apologists for islam love to compare Judaism and islam, one of their false comparisons are circumcision. In practice, it couldn’t be any different, while there is a healthy debate on if circumcision of boys is necessary or has any medical value, for boys there are good arguments both for and against, in fact many countries it’s been done by default at birth, its non-Jewish advocates include the British royal family. As per the Jewish law is should be carried out at 8 days, I have heard good arguments by surgeons about this, but they all agree between a couple of days after birth and before 2 weeks is optimum, healing time, risk of infection, sensitivity to pain etc. so anyway, like his father, my son was “done” before 2 weeks, we both had slight delays because we were both born jaundiced (common problem) both of us were snipped without any complications by a registered “moile” who were also GP’s. and so goes a tradition, I have been to dozens of “Brises” family and friends get to gether, drink eat, and witness the event. I have never seen an infant cry for more than a few seconds, I’ve never heard of any trauma attached to it. Now compare that with the islamic practice, I have seen this myself in turkey, it’s barbaric, devoid of humanity, and easy to understand how they lack any.
