Apostle Dr. Simpson Ngcizela Often, young preachers become careless, especially when it comes to their pulpits. You never know who visits your church on a Sunday so tread carefully. After I finished college many years ago, I joined a bank. One day during my lunch hour I visited a second hand car dealership. Of course I was just window shopping because I did not have money to buy a car. While I was looking around an old man came in. He was wearing ragged clothes. He did not look like a candidate to buy a car, but he had thousands of rands in his bank account. The fact that I was wearing a white shirt, a suit and a tie did not mean I had money to buy a car. A salesperson bypassed the old man and came straight to me. When he realized that I was not going to buy he went back to his office bypassing the old man again. Another salesperson came in from lunch and went straight to the old man. The old man bought a truck worth R100 000.00 in cash. The first sales person missed the deal because he under estimated the old man. Never take your audience for granted. People are smarter than we give them credit for. Prepare, and conduct thorough research before going to the pulpit. People must feel empowered after listening to you.
