Apparently I had too high of hopes for Overstock and the customer service department. I placed an order for a luggage set to use for my 2 month Europe trip (that happens in 6 days) and was really weary about the measurements as airlines are very strict with the policies of over-sized/overweight luggage. Before placing the order I “chatted” with a customer service rep to clarify that the measurements listed in the description were that of the interior and not the exterior. The response I had received back was that it was in fact the exterior dimensions so I went ahead and placed my order. I received my order about 30 minutes ago and still being weary of the measurements I decided to check it for myself, only to find that the measurements listed were of the… interior, putting not only my carry-on over-sized but my checked baggage as well. Over-sized/overweight luggage is $100 per bag per direction… which equals $400 total in baggage fees. I contacted customer service immediately after finding this out to be told that “If you wish I can help me with a return” in to which I replied “If I sent it out for a return and place another order can it be overnight-ed or shipped with expedient service free of charge as this mistake was due to the incompetence of a member of Overstocks staff and not my own and returning the luggage without receiving anything in return would leave me with no luggage.” The response I received sent me over the edge “Im so sorry, we do not have Overnight shipping options. I will forward this issue to a specialized representative in returns department and you will be contacted via phone or email within 1-2 business days. Please confirm your email address and phone number. They will check and help you with the appropriate resolution.” In any other given circumstance I would accept this response without hesitation but not 6 days before I leave the country, information that was given at the beginning of the conversation. 1-2 business days!? You’re joking right? At this point it’s safe to say that I will NEVER order from Overstock nor will I EVER recommend that anyone I know do so.
