Apparently Jeremy Thorpe snuffed it yesterday. Jeremy Thorpe was leader of the Liberal party in the late 1970s until a scandalous court case involving pillow-biting, bumming rent-boys and trying to arrange a murder, toppled him from his inconsequential position as a political none-entity. It also gave the magnificent Peter Cook a chance to show his comedic genius as the impartial judge who let Thorpe off, youtube/watch?v=6xi-agPf95M For this example of one of Britains comedic luminati and for that alone I mention the death of this pointless slimeball politician.
