Apparently someone at JCPenneys Career site is using it to send personal info to scammers. I applied for a Loss Prevention position through the official site and hadnt heard back. Then today I get an email. An HR person offering a Gift Wrapping position. The email included the resume I had uploaded to the career site. How did I know it was a scam? 1) No JCPenneys offer gift wrapping. 2) No stores, who do offer it, have it open prior to Thanksgiving (usually) so seeing the Offer valid midJuly to midAugust? Um no! And 3) While the headquarters of the store is in Texas, the 972 phone number doesnt work of the HR person...at the Texas store the position is for....which anyone with at least some sight can see Im in NY on the resume and applied for NY jobs.... So, beware, if you apply to anything of JCP...well may be a good idea not to online. Go to the store directly. Im going to pay a visit to Manhattan Malls store and report it...and apply there..in person...
