Apparently this Tuesday the UN is going to pass a resolution to lift the half-a-century blockade on the Cuban embassy, which will be predictably voted down by the US and its ally Israel. This blockade has cost Cuba almost three trillion dollars since the 60s. Cuba is still included on the US annual list of States Supporting Terrorism, despite the fact that largely US-backed terrorism in Cuba has killed almost 3,500 Cubans since 1959, and injured over 2,000 others, and the fact that America gave sanctuary to Luis Posada Carriles, a man responsible for the world’s first terrorist bombing of a civilian airliner, which killed 78 Cubans in 1976. Carriles was later referred to by subsequent US presidents as a freedom fighter. Its like that George Carlin joke; If crime fighters fight crime, and fire fighters fight fire, what do freedom fighters fight? #keyboardwarrior
