Apparently, this academic year has come and gone. Ive extended my social life. Ive done some dumb things. Ive even inhaled what the government alleges is unpolluted air. And, peculiarly, I might actually have learnt and experienced some cogent things during the course of Form 2 including, but not limited to: -reading. I often used to read a novel here and there, but it was never really a captivating interest. Only until midway through Form 2 did I stumble upon literature capable of enlightening and arousing my relatively uninformed mind, as well as fostering my interest in writing. -the feckless addiction to electronic games. This point is not meant to cease people from playing video games—electronic games are entertaining and supposedly enhance reflexes to some extent—but to impel fervent gamers, many whom are fellows and colleagues of mine, to end their typically inutile obsession. Life is a brief period of animated existence; then why not make it a meaningful one? Sure, playing games for a living may seem like paradise, but what else can this ideal do except feed an addiction and continually satisfy one’s mere desires? -freethought (or the lack of it). Only in recent times was I truly exposed to the power of despotism, dogma and the intolerance, bigotry and ignorance affiliated. Despotism, dogma and their despicable affiliates are prevalent virtually everywhere. Why is this? People are generally not educated to challenge authority; regrettably, criticism of major tenets is discouraged. -what I seek to do during my existence. This point is in my opinion the most focal, as it incorporates the aforementioned and much more. What I do will not be existent forever, for only change is permanent; however, I hope it lasts for some time as something I can be proud of. Have a terrific summer vacation!
