Appeal to Release South Azerbaijani Political Activists in Iran Who Have Been Sentenced to the Long Term Prison To the public opinion and the international human rights organizations 16 June 2013 The Islamic Republic of Iran has defined its own security in such a way that it is threatened with seeking the universal human rights and even its own constitutional laws. According to this abnormal approuch the people who live under their rule are easily sentenced to long term prison. On 5 May 2013 Iran regime sentenced the five leaders of the Yeni Gamoh organization to totally 45 years in prison. This unfair verdict against the Azerbaijani activists who struggle with only peaceful and non-violent methods, once again proves that the Irani regime is completely indifferent to human rights. It is clear that the Islamic republic regime of Iran intends to deprive the Azerbaijani liberation movement from the skillful activists by heavy prison sentences of this kind. According to this plan, in addition to Mr. Said Matinpour who was previously sentenced to 8 years in prison, Mr. Abbas Valizadeh has recently been sentenced to 8 years and also the leaders of Yeni Gamoh organization; Dr. Latif Hasani, Mr. Bahboud Gholizadeh, Mr. Mahmoud Fazli, Mr. Shahram Radmehr and Mr. Ayat Mehrali Baglou have been exposed to the sentence of totally 45 years in prison. We, the Azerbaijani political and civil rights activists and organizations interpret it as a colonial policy to erode the talented young Azerbaijani activists in prison. We strongly condemn these long prison sentences and demand the release of all the political prisoners.
