Application Developer: Details: Status Code: 01 - REGULAR FULLTIME (ACTIVE) General Job Categories: Analyst Work Hours: AWW Available Test Required?: None Job Grade Level: Test Required: Shift: Normal Work Week (includes days, swing, or graves) Job Description: ANALYST SENIOR COMPUTER JOB BRIEF: The selected candidate will participate in power operations implementations of programs for an Energy Management System. Develop solutions to maintain and enhance existing production systems and facilitate new project development using .NET and other data driven applications and Microsoft Office products. Development of integrations to existing legacy systems. Provide technical leadership to other developers / support personnel and project team members. Develop, upgrade, test, troubleshoot, and install automated systems. This position requires working in a collaborative environment to design, develop, deploy and maintain 24x7 supported applications. Performs basic problem analysis, resolution, repair and recovery in support of clients and other team members following a methodology suitable to the environment and application area assigned. Must be able to function independently, with minimum supervision, and have excellent customer service skills. Ability to be 24/7 on-call one week a month. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: .NET Developer, Developer with experience developing and/or supporting enterprise solutions utilizing .NET technologies Experience with ASP.NET, JavaScript, XML, HTML and related technologies. Experience with the following RDBMS products: Oracle, and SQL Server. Experience with integration technologies including Web Services. Ability to learn, evaluate, and apply new technologies quickly. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization. Experience with .NET development in a Microsoft Studio 2007/2010 environment, Agile Development methodology. Required skills – • Detailed knowledge of multiple programming languages, including strong experience with .Net Programming (C#) • Experience with integrating disparate systems • Master Pages • Themes • Design Patterns • Strong Object Oriented skills • MS SQL Server • Stored Procedures • WCF • LINQ • WF, Windows Workflow Foundation • MVC • JavaScript, HTML, XHTML Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) • AJAX • Strong documentation skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong teamwork/collaboration skills • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize work • Knowledge of information systems design and maintenance methodology Additional skills preferred but not required – • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies • Experience with Test Driven Development EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering or a Bachelors degree in a related field appropriate for the assignment plus 1 year of additional experience beyond the experience required for the level in question. Knowledge and experience with the principles and techniques of structured analysis, systems design, and programming is preferred. Minimum of 6 years of development and/or support experience is preferred.
