Applications are invited for IDEAS Project- Call 5 (Innovation and Design for Euro-Asian Scholars) Erasmus Mundus Action 2 (EMA2). IDEAS is a project which provides scholarships for students on undergraduate, master, doctoral and post-doctoral level, specifically in the field of science and technology. The overall objective of the IDEAS project is to create a partnership in research and education that will strengthen the ties between Europe and Asia, with a special focus on innovation and product realization in a global context. The project will provide students with an excellence in scientific and technological domains, based on both theoretical foundations and practical experience with an international perspective, and prepare them to participate in building and managing complex and large systems and infrastructures. The consortium comprises of 7 prominent educational institutions from Europe. The program offers students from Pakistan an opportunity as an exchange student to study at any one of the following European (EU) participating universities. Funding and Program Duration: The IDEAS Scholarship covers: 1. Round trip flight ticket 2. A monthly subsistence allowance 3. Full insurance coverage - health, travel, accident 4. Tuition fees, if applied at the Host Institution Monthly scholarship rates: Degree Program Monthly Allowance Maximum Duration PhD 1500 Euros 10 months Eligibility Criteria: 1. Must be a national of one of the Asian countries concerned by Lot 12 and reside in Bhutan, India, Nepal, Malaysia or Pakistan. 2. Must not have resided nor have carried out her/his main activity (studies, work) for more than a total of 12 months over the past five years in one of the European countries. 3. Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of instruction of the course/program Language requirements can be found on each Partner Institutions website. 4. Letter of purpose, including a short description of the area of the thesis 4. Letter of reference from main supervisor at Home Institution 5. If possible, a stated preference of which professor at the Host Institution the applicant would like to work with Selection Process: The IDEAS Consortium will use a transparent, fair and objective application and selection mechanism based on common standards. There will be no discrimination in gender, race or ethnicity of the individuals. The Consortium Board considers the following main aspects: 9.
