Who is Eligible to Apply for a Merit Award? • Students in both Grade 11 and 12 in a school selected to participate in the Program, are eligible to apply if enrolling in either grade 12 or a post secondary institution in the following year. • Commitment to school work, extracurricular and community activities must be demonstrated. Any personal challenges are also considered in determining which students receive the Award. How Do I Apply for a Merit Award? • STEP #1: Students can download an application form on our website - meritaward.ca/sales-page/what-are-my-chances • STEP #2: Fill out the application by TYPING your answers directly into the downloadable Microsoft Word file. • STEP #3: PRINT the completed application and submit it to your school’s Guidance Office or Principal’s Office, with 2 references (academic and/or extra-curricular) When are Applications Due? • The deadline is March 31, 2014. Students must submit completed applications to their school’s Guidance Office or Principal’s Office by that date.
