Appreciate your prayers for our daughter Katherine (and us). Drs had been treating her for what they thought was a sinus infection but after a CAT scan today they told us to go immediately to emergency at Childrens Hospital in San Diego for an MRI. We just saw the MRI and then spoke to the ER Dr who also spoke with the Neuro Dr. She has a mass at the bottom of the right side of her brain (middle cranium fossa) and it looks like the carotid artery is going right thru it. The Neuro Dr. doesnt know what to do with it so she is calling in other Drs for counsel. They are admitting her tonight and likely will do surgery on Monday, if they can. Its a dangerous and difficult place. We are leaning hard into Jesus! Shes (I should say we) are all pretty torn up. Her 14th birthday is tomorrow. Its not like we really felt like we needed another lesson in going thru the valley, we have been there, done that. But God knows what He is doing. Though he slay me I will trust Him, I just wish it was me and not my precious only daughter. A friend just sent this quote, The quickest way for anyone to reach the sun and the light of day is not to run west, chasing after the setting sun, but to head east, plunging into the darkness until one comes to the sunrise.
