Approaching the Tacloban airport, I was straining my neck to get a clearer view of houses down below... (what I was thinking?... err expecting?)... expecting to see unusual sights like uprooted trees, damaged houses, buildings, etc.... only to disappoint myself!.. I dont see much... yes, nothing really there to see from the sky, only garbage and other debris which we could presume as houses?... The whole Tacloban, as far as I could see from a limited planes window showed only flattened houses, buildings and tons of debris that littered what previously was known as Tacloban.... God! I cried!.. On land and seeing Tacloban Airport for the first time (after Yolanda)... akala ko nasa War Zone ako... what with several Military equipment, planes etc.. that littered the area...Military personnels abound and people lining up for the flight out of Tacloban (they are about to board the C130) I am not faulting my country for being a third-world country, ang kakulangan natin, ang incompetence, siguro dahil sa limited resources or infrastructure, or those conditions that God or nature seems to have chosen for us. Our people are doing what they can, pero kulang siguro talaga.. (sa effort!). It breaks my heart to see my countrymen suffering so much, ang mga small tales of heroism, the hard work of our soldiers, foreign workers, the volunteerism and compassion of the typical citizen, etc. ... siguro kung tapos na lahat ng ito, pwede natin sila bigyan ng tamang acknowledgement.... In these difficult times, when suffering is high, emotions and tempers are feverish, ang mga victims and survivors has yet to accept the reality..., we need everybodys understanding...and on my part siguro I could do my share whatever I can do to help...by not adding more insults and harsh words sa mga tao na alam natin na may mga pagkukulang din...maski parang gusto ko talaga sila murahin.... .... siguro kung government official ako... baka mas madami ako magagawa?....malay natin no?...
