Aprenda phrasal verbs com as atividades do dia-a-dia By Adir Ferreira Hello, everybody! Eu estava folheando o livro Inglês que não falha, do Ben Parry Davies e me deparei com um texto chamado “Um Dia Típico”, cheio de phrasal verbs super comuns no inglês e decidi compartilhar esse texto com vocês. Are you ready? The alarm goes off [toca] at 6.30 and I wake up [acordo] immediately, but I often lie in bed for another ten minutes before I get up [me levanto]. Then I put on [colocar] my slippers and dressing gown and go downstairs to pick up [pegar] the mail and have breakfast. I go through [olho, procuro] the mail and have a look at the newspaper while I eat. After that I go back [volto] upstairs to have a shower and get dressed. My friend Chris picks me up [me busca] at 7.45, but sometimes he turns up [aparece] early, so I don’t have time to mess around [ficar brincando]. When we get to the centre, he drops me off [me deixa] at the office, where I start by checking out [checar] my e-mails and having a chat with my workmates. Then I usually get together with [me junto com] my team and we go over [examino, olho com cuidado] the plans for the day. When the meeting is over I sit down [me sento] at the computer and work through [continuo trabalhando] until lunchtime, then I go out [saio] for lunch at a restaurant nearby. When I get back [volto], it’s time to sort out [resolver] all the problems from the morning, so generally I don’t get away [saio] from the office before 7 o’clock. Sometimes I go to the gym to work out [malhar] before I head for home. In the evening I normally stay in [fico em casa] and watch TV, or go over to my girlfriend’s to try out [experimentar] some new positions. We seldom stay up [ficamos acordados] very late, unless we go out [saimos] with friends. Fonte: Inglês que não falha, de Ben Parry Davies
