April 2014 Malta Newsletter Engel & Völkers Yachting are proud to announce the Joint venture agreement with a company in Malta having their own shipyard, services and agency for the Yachting industry who directly employ over 100 persons in the various trades including engineering, carpentry, steel fabrication, painting and electrical. The company has facilities for yachts up to 100 m in length over all and can lift out a capacity of a maximum of 5000 tons. Brands represented amongst others are MTU, DETROIT DIESEL, ROLLS ROYCE, ALFA LAVAL & AWLGRIP. The refit department is made up of the entire supporting departments of the Group, combining complete in-house service together with a specialized team of highly professional project managers, who take care of all works associated with yacht repairs/ maintenance and/or refit for yacht up to 140 m. Works carried out include regular annual yacht maintenance (annual dry docking) to larger interventions on yachts, such as main engine or generator replacement, overall painting, deck equipment, electrical/electronic replacement and/or interior refurbishment. These include reconstruction works or conversions of yacht into luxury super yachts. The process of project leading, whether it includes service works, refit or major refit, in a professional way, employing our knowledge and experience during the entire work cycle, from taking the vessel in, to its delivery. The Company has personnel trained in painting applications, erection of thermo covers and experienced craftsman that specialize in teak decking, GRP, wood and aluminum steel and stainless steel constructions, engines and engine room equipment. Works are carried out inside or outside harbor’s, afloat or in dock, always guaranteeing a first class service.
