April is Autism Awareness month and most of you dont know that Brayden was diagnosed with moderate Autism just a few weeks ago. Because of his young age, the diagnosis may change, but it is what we are working with now. Since he turned 1 year old, I have been taking him to all sorts of specialists to make sense of his delays, now we have one piece of the puzzle and can start to have a better understanding of whats going on in his little mind. This whole journey, I have been on my own. The other parent is in denial and I cant begin to explain how extremely difficult this was on me, not having any support on that side. Now he has a girlfriend who is on the same page with me and is working to get him on that level too, and finally... I am so grateful to not feel so alone on this. Every effort I make is to better Braydens future to give him the best, positive outcomes he deserves. Hopefully, soon he will have a support on this issue all around him and we can finally work together on this for his sake. There are many people who dont understand Autism Spectrum Disorder and I want to change that. Raise awareness of this disorder and spread your knowledge, so that children and parents and family and friends dont have to go through what I did. Autism is sort of a mysterious disorder because it is on a scale (spectrum) those affected by it can be mild, moderate or severe. Not everyone has the same symptoms and not in the worst way, some people can go on their whole life not knowing they or their children are autistic. Autism deals with sensory processing, which means all or maybe even one sense does not function the way it should. We all experience this sometimes, but imagine dealing with this everyday of your life... Autism is a real deal and more people should be aware of it, spread the word, feel free to share this picture and raise awareness! I hope this helped some of you who dont know about this ASD and have concerns for your family.
