On April 13th Apollo 13 suffered an accident that nearly killed 3 astronauts. ON April 14th The Titanic sunk.. The Chernobyl nuclear power plant exploded on April 25. On April 3 1996 Secy of Commerce Ron Browns plane crashed in Europe. We mourned the passings of Presidents Wm Henry Harrison and the assasination of Martin Luther King both on April 4. John Paul 2 passed on on April 3. St. Bernadette, ( Lourdes), died on the 13th. FDR died on the 12th Abraham Lincoln on the 14th Douglas Macarthur,Howard Hughes and Richard Nixon Ben Franklin and Mark Twain( 17th 18th 19th 20th) . We did not mourn when Pol Pot(16th) Benito Mussolini (28th) Josef Stalin (6th) died nor proclaim when Sadaam Hussein was born (28th) or Vladimir Lenin on the 21st. .Nor for Adolf Hitler born(20th) Married (27) and died (29) On APRIL 17 JFK ordered the Bay of Pigs invasion (failed) On April 24 Jimmy Carter ordered a rescue mission into Iran ( failed). April 19th is the anniversary of the start of the AMERICAN REVOLUTION. April 12 is the anniversary of the start of the Civil war ( at Ft.Sumter) and end of the Civil war on april 9 (4 years later at Appomatax ) Americas Mexican war (25th) Spanish American war (21st) and first world war (6th) all began in april. On April 26th 5000 Spaniards were killed by Germanys Luftwaffe in a prelude to WWII and on April 2 Argentina seized the Falkland Islands from British control. On April 10 the Bataan death march began in which 5000 GIs and Fillpino POWS died during WWII. April 19th was the day of the Waco siege and the explosion at the the OKLAHOMA court house. On April 20th 13 students were killed at Columbine Highschool. Hank Aaron hit number 715 (7th) and Jackie Robinson played his first game ( 11th) While its true that any month can produce a litany of events like this which effect only a few people,lets not forget the most infamous day of this month .......HAPPY TAX DAY EVERY ONE (15TH)
