Badfinger came under the wing of Paul McCartney who wrote their first hit. They had four or five BIG hits but after that suffered from the consequences of the dissolution of Apple records and Warner with which they had signed a deal. They were unable to record and therefore couldnt earn money. Eventually this led directly to the suicide of the groups leader, Pete Ham, a fine vocalist. Perhaps they should never have changed their name to Badfinger. youtube/watch?v=uKhGwIRaz4g
