Aprospos the situation of education in BC at the moment. A few days ago I asked some of my Danish friends with small children a couple of questions. How many children are in the class -- answer, average 23 children (28 children being the most). Less children in the 0-3 grades. The teacher has a helper teacher, in some cases who follows the child through 3 years of school. So, two teachers for an aveerage of 23 children. In Denmark most children go to kindergarten from the age of 3 for up to 8-9 hours a day. Kindergarten -- from my experience -- is standardised in terms of structure and expectations, and prepares children for the experience of school. My own son was in a programme in his school where 3 classes worked together with three teachers. The teaching was theme based bringing in the three rs, as well as creative and physical activities.
