The Community Services Department is looking for energetic, responsible, qualified individuals to work as Aquatic Fitness Instructors at our sports and fitness facilities. You will evaluate, design and lead multi-leveled fitness classes, delivering excellence in aquatic service and programming. This includes classes such as Shallow Water, Deep Water, Aquabox, Karataquatics, Water Works, Bungy, Fining, Water Running and Boot Camps. A variety of opportunities and shifts are available throughout the City. This is a casual ongoing, part time opportunity. To visualize what it is like to be on our team, visit The City of Edmonton Recreation & Sports Talent Hub Qualifications: Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age Willing to complete the applicable training programs Strong teaching and communication skills Ability to motivate others Experience leading a variety of aquatic classes is an asset Possession of a current leadership certification specializing in aquatics as recognized by AFLCA (Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association) or CALA (Canadian Aquafitness Leaders Alliance) or WaterART Possession of a current CPR level C certification All certifications must be kept current according to the certifying associations standards The successful candidate will be required to obtain a satisfactory Police Information Check Certificate including a Vulnerable Sector Check from the police agency in the jurisdiction in which they reside. Residents of the City of Edmonton can usually obtain a Police Information Check Certificate including a Vulnerable Sector Check with a single visit to the Police Information Check Section located at #108, 14315 118 Avenue. Candidates residing outside the City of Edmonton will be required to obtain a Certified Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check For information on how to become certified, go to provincialfitnessunit.ca/get-aflca hours of Work: 2- 30 hours per week, Sunday to Saturday Salary Range: 10M, Salary Grade: 066, $14.493 - $24.157 (Hourly). The rates are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton. This union contract is currently under negotiation.
