Ar-RIJAAL ON ARFA EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW ON ARFA – A MUST READ AND SHARE PLEASE As salaamu alaikum brothers in Islam. Its yet another blissful Friday and a glorious one indeed as on this day the ummah of Rasulullah are seeking for the favor and mercy of Allah. Men, women, the old and the young none left behind are at awe in the presence of their Lord. All thanks and praise is due to the almighty and His Messenger. As you all know. Today is Arfa day, a day our deen was perfected. On this show today we have an honourable gentleman, an Islamic scholar and an educationist. We are going to have a discussion on how Muslims can perfect this day as glorious as it is insha Allah and may Allah make it easy for us. You are welcome brother. Abdul Rauf: I’m most grateful brother. Saefullah: Could you kindly tell us something about you? Abdul Rauf: All praise is due to Allah, may his peace and blessings be upon Sayyiduna wa Habibuna Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, his wonderful companions and whoever follow their steps till akhira Abdul Rauf is my name, raised from the “famous” Aboabo, Kumasi. Honoured with a degree in the great city of Madinat-ul-Rasul صلى الله عليه وسلم. Now in Malaysia, trying to add some tomato source to the sandwich before deliciouslypresenting it ready for public consumption. Hehe. May the ummah benefit from our endeavour. Saefullah: Hihih.. you are always awesome with your sense of humour…Brothers he meant to say phd..lol..MashaAllah…Ameen.. And by the way I believe you are a father to two beautiful children with a lovely wife, can you give us their names. Abdul Rauf: No problem akhi. Parenting to me is the noblest job and something am always proud of. Being a parent is a great blessing I wish Allah grant it to everyone craving for it. Zainab (Widad) is the first, Abubakar (Sultan) is the second and Nusaiba (Saibat) is the interior minister, (Junaidullah is the defence minister) hehe.. May Allah bless all Kids and grant them a bright future. I think Al-rijal should give it (Parenting) a slot in one of its interviews. Hehe. Saefullah: Hahaha:… folks the show got started and I believe you are enjoying as I am in my mobile studio..lol..Interesting family you have…Masha’allah, may Allah bless the entire family.. INSHA’ALLAH we are definitely going to do parenting soon.. Quickly what’s there to know about the month of DhulHijjah Abdul Rauf: Yaa akhi, it’s amazing, it’s really amazing belonging to this wonderful religion. One can simply not afford but to keep busy with broad smile enduring and enjoying the seasons set by this noble religion. A concept well structured, making the best out of a believer (Mu’min), full of blessings (اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم وأتممت عليكم نعمتى ورضيت لكم الاسلام دينا) ensuring not only my happiness, but making sure I earn it through my personal effort. Hope you know the difference between the “already made” and “homemade’ happiness, you enjoy the later with passion and crave..heheh Just when we are about to get a finial goodbye kiss from Ramadan, his neighbour awesomely knocked our door with yet another great bids. Days full of rewards, nights so noble that they were praised in the Qur’an, the strong 10-days that carries the 5th pillar of Islam (Hajj) to us. Allah is so generous in these 10 days that, it severely irritates the Shaitan. Because he is losing his regular customers to the wonderful offers presented in the market. Sorry to those who left these wonderful days with a zero credit. May Allah bless us with the strength need to obey and worship him accordingly Saefullah: Indeed noble is the religion Islam and glories is what it showers upon its adherence. Now today is Arfa.. Masha Allah... What can you tell us about its virtues? Abdul Rauf: Akhi, our Lord is so great, to strategically single out the last month of the year for some special offers and promotions is really delightful. I can only give it to you in one practical example for you to get just a little of what it means to have the 10 days of DhulHijja. Remember your graduation day..? Your parent so proud of you, family relatives, and friends cheerfully celebrating with you. All grandaunts are full of bliss even some of us with grade C- D- or F, seeing us in that graduation robe is breath-taking, only the “students’ portal” knows the difference between the first class and the lower class among us hehe. The atmosphere irritates the destructors who never want to see our success (May Allah guide and forgive them). After the graduation you go for clearance, you clear all your outstandings, offences, make peace with both academic and admin staff. And just move with shoulders high looking forward to start a new life. Exactly the virtues of this wonderful 10 days. Saefullah: Subhanallah! Abdul Rauf: Allah subhanahu wata’ala will descend with his interesting bounties, offers, forgiveness, proudly asking the angels what else do these slaves of mine want. Subhanllah.!! You see how great and merciful is Allah. And to help you maximise your profit, fasting is encouraged. Why..? Yes, because الصوم جنة as narrated by Bukhari “Fasting is a shield”, it protects you from committing major sins and prepares you for major act of Ibada. You will never allow yourself to be deceived by shaitan whiles fasting, would you..? hehe And you know one interesting thing, this 10 days always comes along not only with (Hajj) -may Allah grant all of us that opportunity- but the entire five pillars of Islam are virtually observed during these interesting days: 5 daily prayers, reaching out to the poor, fasting, and the almighty Hajj. Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, (the best of invocation is that of Arafa day, and the greatest among all is the Tahleel, لا اله الا الله محمد رسول الله and that completes the 5 pillars of Islam, it’s a “revision week” for our basic requirements as Muslims, a nice way to close our account with some discounts and promotions. Saefullah: Indeed not just nice but an astounding way to close our accounts with the best of promotion. S hw shuld a muslim uphld this day..Arfa day..a great day.. Abdul Rauf: Interestingly, the acts of worship (Ibada) is encouraged in so many ways during these days, physically, verbally and morally. No matter where you find yourself during the day (of Arafa) one should make sure he didn’t violate the rights of others, verbal abuse, aggression. Only Ibadah, ibadah, ibadah and be creative and smart enough to deposit enough for next year, as credits are multiplied for the believers during these days. Equip yourself with Taqwa and try not to be left out.(.....فمن فرض فيهن الحج فلا رفث ولا فسوق ولا جدال في الحج، وما تفعلوا من خير يعلمه الله وتزودا فان خير الزاد التقوى)[al-baqara 197]. Get busy, enjoy the moment, do it with a twist of ibadah, and make sure you didn’t do anything in the process to crash your rewards. Saefullah: Any advice for the youth before we talk briefly on Eid to wrap it up insha Allah Abdul Rauf: Exactly the advice given by the prophet to the ummah. It’s wonderful, he said; don’t be envious of one another, do not hate one another, do not boycott one another and be servants of Allah, brethren. A true Muslim is always dear to his fellow Muslim, he does not wrong him and he doesn’t show contempt for him. It’s enough of an evil for a Muslim to belittle his fellow” may Allah strengthen our brotherhood for the benefit of our community. Saefullah: Ameen!.. Now preparation for Eid Abdul Rauf: Yaa akhi, indeed no place like home, if you’re to ask this question in other part of the world, people will awkwardly giggle and say (Normal). Hehe. Unlike them, preparation for Eid in our countries start weeks ahead and it grows intensively as it gets closer with a wonderful atmosphere, sending a blissful messages of how this religion is great. Eid is a season of happiness, enjoyment and celebration. Yes, is there anything to celebrate more than a successful completion of the (one year) Ibadah, Muslim celebrate achievements especially that which signifies and shows an accomplishment in being a loyal and obedient slave of Allah قل بفضل الله وبرحمته فبذلك فليفرحوا هو خير مما يجمعون [and indeed for the bounties and mercies of Allah, you (all) should celebrate, that surely, worth more than your (worldly) achievement] celebrate, the Ibadah way. Eidul adha does not only signifies the end of year, but again the fulfilment of the last slot of 5 pillars of Islam. After a year full of Solat, Zakat and Fasting, now comes the last pillar (Hajj), the entire Muslim world come together to mark the end of the year as well as show solidarity with those blessed to perform the Hajj obligatory, may Allah grant us that opportunity. Allah subhanahu wata’ala is so generous during these day. Just a day before Eid, after successfully fasting the day (of Arafa) which is today, as narrated by Muslim, your sins were expiated, you might be freed from Jahanam that day, Allah is so proud of you that day. Isn’t that awesome, don’t you think it deserves a 3day full of celebrations. Indeed we have a religion well-structured with balanced rules and guide. Alhamdulillah for these blessings Seafullah: What should I do as a Muslim on Eid day..Insha Allah الله أكبر الله اكبر الله أكبر... لا اله الا الله...والله اكبر الله اكبر... ولله الحمد Sayyiduna Umar will tour the entire city, starting with the markets, with these thrilling music(Alhamdulillah, if you have any questions about that, ask Baba Salam)..hehe, raising his voice, grooving and warming up the crowd, and he will never stop till the entire city is full of praises for the Almighty Allah, chanting (All praiseis due to Allah, no one deserves to be worshiped but him alone, All praise is due to Allah, and all thanks). What a wonderful phrases is it to start your day with, Wake up as early as possible, get the entire house (if not the neighbourhood) awake, “charged” and ready for the wonderful day. Get the best and modest dress and match to your respective Eid site, it’s Sunna to change route when returning from the Eid. It’s again Sunna to fast (the kids way) [azuminshabiyu]..lol, and the moment you are done with the Eid Solat and Khutbah, remember the “item 13” you can’t wait for, go for it. Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said (These three days are(specially reserved) for toeat, drink and immensely praise Allah), thus make sure, your mouth is either chewing or “zikiring” doing Dhikr. Don’t allow your mood to get the worst out of, no anger, don’t be too serious and tell shaitan: can you give me a break..? Okay, let it be today. Take care of underprivileged in the neighbourhood, make sure you share the joy (equally) with them. لبيك اللهم لبيك.. لبيك لا شريك لك لبيك.. ان الحمد والنعمة... لك والملك.. لا شريك كل عام وأنتم بخير May we see next year with more blessing and bounties Saefullah: MashaAllah.. At this moment I believe you s much miss the great city.. hihiha
