Arbil / NINA / Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government Najervan Barzani received on Thursday the envoy to the Chinese Foreign Ministry Tan Bankelin, who began his duties as his country’s consul in the Region. A statement by the Regionial government, today said that Bankelin expressed his happiness to visit the Kurdistan region, and reiterated that his government has appointed him to work in the Kurdistan region in such circumstances to prove the Chinese support for the region and to express sympathy with the displaced families and the follow-up their situation. The Chinese diplomat said that the consulate in Erbil, will serve as a bridge to extend the relations between the Kurdistan region and China, and encourage Chinese companies to work in the region and to participate in the process of reconstruction. For his part, Barzani praised the initiative of the government of China and its desire in the opening of the General Consulate in Erbil, in such circumstances, which the Kurdistan region and the region passes by. At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides expressed their desire to strengthen relations in all economic, commercial, political and social spheres and stressed the need to assist the Kurdistan Regional Government in tackling the IS.
