Architecture is a wonderful pursuit. The design part is exciting and we continue to explore new ways to blend existing environments with new perceptions. Today, this effort included the lining of our Bryant Heights lobby with the essence of the northwest - peeler poles from the plywood making process - in a way that resembles the folding of sheet goods (paper origami or in this case a pattern of peeler poles) into benches, steps, floor, ceiling and tables, not to mention frames for elevator doors and mailboxes! Stay tuned for graphics. The rest of the day included chasing building permits, assisting in construction, managing the finances of building projects, exploring the options in canopy construction and coordinating civil engineering, landscape and the architecture that sits within! Tomorrow, we carry on (and attend the AIA Pacific Northwest Region Honor Awards)!
