Are you a professional waiter? But those who wait on the LORD - TopicsExpress

Are you a professional waiter? But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. -Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) It is a very common saying in the Church, Im waiting on God, but waiting on God is more than just believing that something good will happen in your life, there is always a part a waiter has to play, the bible even says that faith without works is dead. Most restaurants have waiters and waitresses, and once you get into the restaurant, a waiter comes to your table and waits on you. What do they do? They take instructions from you as to what you want and then serve you accordingly. The first thing the waiter does is to come to you; we need to tarry in the presence of God, in the place of prayer and bible study. (Luke 18:1, Joshua 1:8). The waiter also takes instructions from you; we need to receive divine direction from God as to what He will have us do concerning what we are waiting on Him for. (Psalm 16:7). Lastly, the waiter serves you according to your requirements, it does no matter what the waiter wants, its all about what you want. Likewise, we also need to serve God; we need not brood over our issues, but give our all in faithful service to Him. (Exodus 23:25, Job 36:11) As we make up our minds today to wait on God faithfully and diligently, He will indeed perfect all that concerns us, and might just give us a tip as well, like you will do a good waiter. It is called Favour.....and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Heb 11:6
