Are you distracted while you’re walking… Here is an invention that can help you out! The “Audio Aware” differentiates between different types of sounds to warn the hard of hearing and distracted of potential danger. Headphone-wearing device-users have earned the rather dubious distinction of ‘distracted walkers.’ For those who feel removing the headphones is not an option, the start-up One Llama has developed an application able to detect important warning sounds, such as honking horns or sirens. When such sounds are detected, the app mutes the music and alerts the user. The app comes with a bank of sounds already loaded, which the user can add to in order to suit their environment.
