Are you eating enough omega 3? A lower ratio of omega 6/omega 3 is more desirable in reducing risk of many chronic diseases. This research article helps explain the importance of changing the ratio to help prevent disease - a diet high in omega 6 can be pro inflammatory whilst increasing omega 3 has an anti inflammatory effect. although research have shown different optimal ratios for various diseases the overall message is clear that a reduction in omega 6 whilst increasing omega 3 is valuable for many.
