Are you in an angry or grumpy state of mind on a regular basis? Much of our anger stems from our perceived lack of control of what is around us. We want things to happen a certain way and they do not. We get frustrated and angry. Why? Perhaps others are not following the rules, or others are not treating me with respect or I never get any breaks in life or I am scared of doing this or that because of a potential negative outcome things... When you think this way you are looking externally for things that are going to make you happy and when they do not materialize you are angry at yourself or the world around you. Counter these thoughts by meditating for 10 minutes focusing on your breath going in and out. Next continue to meditate but this time recite a couple of mantras like: I accept what experiences I encounter. Life is a positive learning experience. I can learn from any situation that comes my way. I do the best that I can do and that is good enough. Others do the best they can do and that is good enough. etc... This will help you re-frame your story and put an Optimistic spin on it. It may take a couple of weeks for you to buy into this because you may have years of undoing to contend with but rest assured that your will start to turn the corner. Daily exercises are the key and reciting new balanced thoughts are as well.
