Are you like me and sometimes feel you havent done enough to make Christmas special? Perhaps, you didnt get Christmas cards mailed, your decorations are lacking, the gifts seem a little sparse…and then you see everyone elses beautiful pictures of their kids baking cookies, singing carols, reading quietly by the tree, their special family traditions and beautifully decorated homes…and you sighhh. And then I sit down this morning and HE reminds me that Christmas is perfect for ALL of us! Why? Not because of anything Ive done or not done. But because He came as the most perfect gift. FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US. Not the perfect. Not the wise. Not the ones who have it all together. But for you. And me. I love that He does things so opposite of how we expect. When the Creator of the World sent His Son to earth as a baby, there was no fanfare or parade. There were no royalty or body guards present. There were no plush rooms or special treatment offered. He came in the midst of ordinary….not the perfect. But HE made it perfect. The most perfect gift came by way of unwed teenagers from Nazareth (a place from which nothing good ever originated). Lowly shepherds (societys outcasts). Smelly stables. Completely opposite of what the intelligent theologians of the day were looking for and expecting. So, be encouraged today. The perfect Christmas has nothing to do with you. Or your efforts. It is COMPLETELY about the life-changing gift that was sent FOR you over 2,000 years ago. He comes to the simple. He comes to the broken. He comes to the imperfect and lowly. He comes FOR us. And He is shared with others THROUGH us. And THAT is the #perfectChristmas Merry Christmas, friends!
