PART TIME RECEPTIONIST/BOOKKEEPER (1:00-5:00PM MONDAY-FRIDAY) We are seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing individual to become a member of our accounting and tax practice. Applicants must have 2-5 years experience in a professional office setting. Position requires data entry for multiple clients as well as internal record keeping; therefore Quickbooks experience is required; with knowledge of all primary functions within the program. Applicants must have excellent customer service and communication skills, analytical skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Must be mature, dependable and dedicated, and have a high level of professionalism. Responsibilities include answering telephones in a professional and timely manner, taking messages as needed, managing direction of calls to other staff, answering questions and giving direction where possible, scheduling and rescheduling appointments. Responsibilities also include professionally greeting clients at front desk and directing them to the appropriate staff or assisting them personally, taking intake information for clients, managing front office and overall office organization, filing, annual mailings to all clients, etc. Responsibilities not only include managing the front office operations, but also include managing the flow of information throughout the office. This includes distribution of incoming files and managing the inflow of client data and work in process; from intake of files to finished product, including managing collection duties related to final work product, archiving data files and managing file storage. Monthly data entry and bank reconciliations for clients as needed. Applicants must have excellent organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, must be able to multitask and be flexible in handling numerous assignments, and be comfortable in a fast paced office environment. Must be detail oriented, hard working and willing to perform additional duties as assigned. Due to the nature of the files and the final work product of our office, an attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is required. We are looking for an individual that has excellent customer service skills and strong people skills while having the ability to work in a fast-paced professional office environment and manage the position as accurately and efficiently as possible. SENIOR TAX PREPARER/STAFF ACCOUNTANT: Accounting office in the Salt Lake valley looking for a dynamic, professional, self-motivated individual to fill a Tax Preparer/Staff Accountant position. Personality is a big factor as we are a small office and want to ensure compatibility between other staff as well as clients. Position is available for immediate employment provided applicants meet the following criteria: Must be able to prepare personal returns with Schedule A, B, C, D, E and F and other various schedules as well as any required workpapers or calculations. Must be able to prepare Corporate and Partnership tax returns and all schedules of varying complexities and should be knowledgeable about the computer software used in the tax department. Ultra Tax or Taxworks experience preferred. Preparers should also have a good understanding of depreciation and fixed asset allocations, allowable business deductions and allocations, interest allocations, basis requirements, amended return preparations, NOL allocations, estimated tax projections and calculations, preparation of state returns, and the current tax law. Preparers are responsible for making adjusting entries to client files and completing necessary financial statements, and must be able to read and understand accounting reports and financial statements in order to prepare tax returns. Preparers should perform services within budgeted time and have the ability to meet tight deadlines by developing technical, time management, and organizational skills. Preparers should contribute to the client service team by producing quality work, quick turnaround, and attentive service, including client follow-up. Preparers should have the ability to interact with ease with the clients as well as other staff. Verbal & written communication skills are essential. Additional Accounting Functions Necessary: Must be proficient in all modules of QuickBooks, including bank reconciliations, payroll, payroll taxes, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Must have a complete understanding of the process of compiling the balance sheet, profit and loss, general ledger, general journals, etc.. Must have a complete knowledge of payroll and payroll related reporting requirements, sales and sales tax reporting and year end reporting requirements. Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Word. Must be proficient in evaluating loans, loan balances and amortization schedules. Must have exceptional skills at multi-tasking, organization and prioritization throughout each day to assist in meeting all clients needs, complete assigned tasks efficiently and to manage the overall flow of a professional office environment. Job candidates should have a Masters Degree and at least 10 years experience in preparing individual and business returns.
