Are you one of these drivers... Oh its just a little scrape, not too much harm done... Im surprised youre bothered enough to get it fixed! Yes? You have no idea what you put people through! ------------ Exactly 2 months ago my car was parked (like in photo) and was hit by a careless driver simply not paying attention. Thankfully, they stopped 100 yards up the road after realising what had happened (!) and came back, full of apologies, clearly shaken and claiming that they simply misjudged the distance between my car & theirs. Its just a little scrape They said Not too much harm done The incident was reported to insurers 10 minutes later & I was instructed not to drive my car until an assessment had been made to consider it safe to do so. To cut a very long, frustrating & terribly boring story short... A few days later my insurance company contacted me to explain that the other drivers insurance company had retracted their statement of liability & that repair had been organise but at the cost of my excess. Why - How could I possibly be held responsible for this?! Its what they tend to do these days Miss Care... Naturally, I was fuming! I contacted the other drivers insurance company who explained that they had been instructed not to communicate with any third parties involved in the claim Arrrgh!! After 3 more weeks, no further forward & coming to the realisation that I may have to take this to court to get sorted, I got mad & contacted my insurance company one final time & demanded to stay on the line while they contacted the other drivers insurance company to explain that I had started legal proceedings to get the matter resolved. After being left on hold for 45 minutes I hung up. A few days later my insurance company contact me to let me know that they have now re-accepted liability Miss Care Phew!! I collected my car today after going into crash repair 13 days ago. The signage to the rear wing & bumper cannot be replaced until the new bits of car and re-spray are ready to take the new graphics. Ive had a hire car for weeks & have lost 2 months worth of advertising for my business. All in all, this careless misjudgement has cost the insurance company thousands to put right. And me a load of stress & inconvenience, not to mention the impact on my business. So, next time you get into your car that you dont give a crap about - Spare a thought for those of us affected by your questionable driving skills.
