Are you ready to be coached right now?? I really wish Id written this. If youre thinking of Online Coaching with me (or anyone else for that matter) please read first and then decide if you are ready... Some people are just not ready to be coached. Some people think that they are, they think it’s what they really want, but it really isn’t. They just cant be helped right now. They aren’t prepared to give it 100% effort. They consistently give excuses each week as to why they couldn’t complete certain tasks, or just don’t apply basic principles. They don’t understand it is hard work. They think that by signing up and paying money the problem will just go away, because they hired someone, they threw money at the situation so it should just go away right? Big mistake. You have paid someone to guide you in the right direction, filter through all the crap for you and give you a set of guidelines that will get you results. However, it’s still extremely hard and requires the upmost commitment. Once you have signed up things actually become harder. Because you have someone you’re accountable to now. Someone who will not chase you up but requires information from you each week. They will require you to take pictures of yourself, weigh yourself and keep a track of what you have been doing each day. Before signing up with a coach, people should look at the next 6 months of their life and ask the following questions: 1. Are there are very few life events going on right now? 2. Is my job as stable as it can be? 3. Am I planning any long holidays soon? 4. Am I willing to make changes to my daily routine? 5. Would changing my habits affect other people negatively? 6. Would other people question what I am doing? 7. Am I prepared to answer all the inevitable questions from friends and family and possibly have to defend my position? 8. Am I prepared to take control and have to organize my weekly schedule? 9. Am I prepared to be accountable to a coach who will require regular contact? 10. Do I train properly or would I be better off seeking help with my training first? 11. Am I prepared to actually HAVE to make changes? 12. Am I prepared to accept what I have been doing previously has not worked? Life gets in the way. We get that. There is loads of stuff going on and we can’t all commit to giving nutrition 100% of our time. We have to work around problems and nutrition shouldn’t consume your life. The only problem is that people sign up with a nutritionist at times when their life is just too busy for them to give it their full attention. And they know it. If you are planning on having a baby in the next few months, don’t sign up. If you aren’t willing to be adventurous and try new things, don’t sign up. If you aren’t willing to be different and stand out from the crowd, don’t sign up If you want to make minimal changes, don’t sign up. Once you have got your nutrition sorted and have dedicated some time to getting it right, it gets a lot easier and when things get busy in life you can still maintain what you have got because you have developed awesome habits. But you also need to have realistic goals and understand what is possible. For example professional bodybuilders sit at 15% body fat in their off-season (What you mean that they don’t look ripped all year round? - Yeah they don’t), and professional athletes sit at roughly 12% for males and 18% for females (And yeah, it’s their JOB to exercise every day). Just remember that all those pictures of models you see on covers of magazines, dieted hard for that cover shoot. It’s one point in time, not what they look like year round. So what is realistic? Well, if you are looking to lose body fat, a loss of 0.5-1kg a week would be outstanding progress and if you are trying to gain some muscle then a gain of 0.5-1kg a month would also be outstanding for a relative newbie. Granted those aren’t numbers that are going to blow your mind, but that’s what is realistic. Suck it up buttercup, it’s hard work. Nothing worth happening happens without a shit loads of hard work, and over a short period of time. Youre gonna have to deal with it. Are you ready to be coached? Are you really ready to be coached or are you just looking for someone else to blame for your lack of desire, will power and results? ~ bodytypenutrition.co.uk Original Page: bodytypenutrition.co.uk/blog/ready-coaching/
