Are you seeking an elected office in Washington DC? Would you like to win an elkection with 75% of the vote? Read on. We need candidates to congress who will represent us, We, the People. What does that mean? Listed here are a few ideas of what We, the People believe, and, if any candidate would stand before us and proclaim these issues loudly and proudly, that candidate would garner support, and votes, from across the political spectrum. These are ideas that average, everyday, working people talk about. Thses ideas are not republican or democrat. They are plain common sense and decency. The desire to get along is way over rated and way over played. We dont give a hairy rats ass if you get along. Washington DC needs to be totally cleansed. You wont do that by getting along. Those who demand you get along are presicely the ones who needs cleansing. If youre not pissing people off in Washington DC, then you are not doing what you were sent there to do. Start with this one. The Proposed 28th Amendment. Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States. This needs to happen. If no member of congress will promote it, We, the People need to find a way to make it happen ourselves. The members of congress have made themselves royalty. Exempt from the laws which they pass and setting themslves up for a lifetime of financial freedom which We, the People can only dream about. That is wrong. I would add to the proposed 28th Amendment that when a member of congress completes his or her service, that is the end. No lifetime paycheck and no lifetime benefit package. I dont think its unreasonable for a member of congress to earn the wage which they do, but, they certainly do not earn to receive it forever. Number 2 Term Limits. After a person has worked in Washington DC for more than 5 years, that person no longer has any connection to real life and should get out. Make room for fresh ideas that apply to the real world. Also, too much time in the arena sets one up for corruption. 2 terms, in any elected office, period. Number 3 Immigration. Illegal immigration in the United States is a real problem. We are being over run and no one in Washington DC is even paying attention to it. Instead, they are trying to find ways to help those who have broken the laws! There are laws relating to illegal immigrants and its way past time this country begins enforcing them. No amnesty. No work program. No nothing. If you are not here legally, you have 1 year to turn yourself over to authorities. You will be provided transportation back to your home country, along with all your possessions, where you may apply for legal status here in the United States. Any gainful contribution you have made while here will be considered in your application. After the 1 year amnesty period, an aggressive policy to locate illegal immigrants will begin. When found, they will be documented and fined. They will then be returned to their home country. Any possessions will be their responsibilty to relocate. These people may never apply to come to the United States under the immigration laws. They have lost their opportunity. Future violations will be met with harsher fines and prison time prior to deportation. Number 4 Call out the liars in Washington DC. We all see them. They are present in both parties and they tell outrageous fabrications that are easily detected by even the most uninformed of citizens. Call those people out at every occasion. You are not going to Washington DC to make friends. Too bad if you step on some toes on the way. Number 5 You are going to Washington DC to protect our rights, We, the People. Thats all we expect you to do. Those rights are clearly defined in the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Any attempt to alter or remove any of those rights will be met with your immediate removal from the office to which you were elected. Number 6 Foreign aid. We have plenty of places right here in the United States to dump money. There are many places that could use that boost to make repairs and get the local economy moving. Not one more US dollar should be sent to any third world shithole where the people openly pray for our demise and burn us in effigy. Not one. Theres more, but, lets leave it there for now. Discuss...
