Are you tired of the air crowded with incessant holiday commercial - TopicsExpress

Are you tired of the air crowded with incessant holiday commercial pitches? You can take a break from the seasonal insanity with a strong helping of reality and informed commentary on Voices and Vision, tomorrow from 6 to 8pm on KOWS 107.3 FM. Join host John Starkey as he expands Voices and Vision with a more topical holiday theme beginning with a discussion of homelessness (think of childbirth in a manger) with guest Adrienne Lauby, activist on homelessness issues and 2014 recipient of the Peace and Justice Centers Courage of Committment award. John Starkey also looks to the New Year through literature--Censored 2015 with Peter Phillips, SSU sociologist professor, former director and host of Project Censored on KPFA Radio. Between and flowing into those compelling topics, the Cross-Currents panel--Alice Chan,Ernie Carpenter, and Anna Cummings Jacopetti--will sink its teeth into the knotty national problem of community and media responses to police homicides and their causes. There will be discussion of the recent draft recommendations by a Sonoma County Community and Local Law Enforcement Task Force subcommittee and of race relations in America. You can count on John’s show to provide relief from seasonal anxieties through new and different intellectual and moral challenges. And you are invited to join in by telephone. Call in at the studio at (707) 874-1073.
